Cambridge Aero Club were very professional, helpful and friendly throughout all stages of my PPL training.
The C172 is a great aircraft to train on – benign handling and fully equipped for instrument flying. The club aeroplanes are modern and very well maintained by Marshall Aerospace who own and operate Cambridge airport.

I continue to hire from them and wholeheartedly recommend Anthony and his team.

I did my PPL at Cambridge Aero Club, and now regularly hire from them. I’ve also done the night rating course, and am considering doing the IMC in the near future.

All the instructors and staff are very friendly, and the fleet of Cessna 172s seem very well maintained and managed. Cambridge airport has full ATC, a main (long) hard runway (with ILS and RNAV approaches), and two grass runways, but unlike some bigger places doesn’t tend to get too busy, so there’s very little holding etc.

Being located in East Anglia, there is very little controlled airspace around to have to worry about, but still a good number of places that are close enough for land aways and the like.

There’s also the Extra200, which I haven’t yet flown, but from what I’ve seen looks to be a lot of fun!

I did the basic aeros course at Cambridge Aero Club in their Extra200. As you can imagine, it was awesome. Expensive, but awesome.
