I booked the full crash NPPL package course (sorry for the Pun) and it’s been great fun with structured lessons that are paced but also push you just enough for you to get a sense of achievement. There are times when you will make mistakes – what can I say – Lawrence has eyes like a hawk and doesn’t miss much in the same respect your not made to feel bad about anything, as the saying goes “learn from your mistakes”.
I can’t imagine flying with anyone else and getting the same level of professionalism and being made to feel really welcome at the same time. Durham Areosports have set the benchmark very high and is certainly the one other training school’s should aspire to.
My sincerest thanks to all at Durham Aerosports, Lawrence, Perry and Chris – Onwards and Upwards.

Booked 5 hours to start off with, after visiting the office and speaking to Lawrence and Chris I decided to book the full pilot package. They are great and make you feel relaxed from the minute you walk threw the door. Lawrence is an amazing instructor who takes his time to explain every aspect of what you will need to know. I am looking forward to all my future lessons and hope there is a career for me in the future in the aviation sector

I booked an intensive NPPL course with Duham Aerosports earlier this year an I have to say, I can’t praise Durham Aerosports enough!! Lawrence is a fantastic instructor who is really patient and very knowledgeable. As soon as I walked through the door I was made to feel welcome and at ease by Lawrence and Chris. I feel I am progressing well on my course which I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to learn to fly. I opted for the residential intensive NPPL course and I am really enjoying it! the accommodation is good and it is fantastic learning to fly at a operational commercial Airport dealing with other aircraft and ATC. Again, cant recommend Durham Aerosports enough and I cant wait until my next lesson! (Stephen Teasdale NPPL M student 8 hours and 3 exams in to the course. Whitby N.Yorks)

I’m currently 15 hours into my NPPL (M) license and loving every minute of it! The guys at Durham Aerosports are professional throughout and have an attention to detail which is second to none. The facilities which are based in the main Airport building are modern and excellent, and the Ikarus C42 aircraft they operate is fantastic, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped – it is clear that there has been no expense spared here and I’m looking forward to flying in their 2nd, brand new edition soon. The whole setup is a very satisfying experience and the Chief Instructor, Lawrence, is very passionate about flying and engages well with his students. Perry and Chris are extremely helpful too and I would highly recommend this flying school to anyone. It’s an added bonus that you are able to experience full ATC too, being based at Durham Tees Valley Airport!

Durham Aerosports is a very professional outfit with new modern and very well equipped C42 aircraft. And with Chief Instructor Lawrence Bell you can be confident you have a teacher who will take you to NPPL level and beyond. I have flown with Lawrence for over a year, previously at another school, and he is by far the best teacher I have ever had. He is thorough in his tuition is very knowledgeable but makes the whole process extremely enjoyable as well. And at Surham Tees Valley there is the added excitement of flying with full ATC back up which is a great advantage and learning bonus. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this superb school to anyone thinking of taking up this fantastic and totally addictive pastime.

I feel very fortunate to be a student at Durham Aerosports, learning to fly in a new state of the art C42 fixed wing microlight aircraft. They operate from Durham Tees International Airport, which has full ATC facilities. You’re sharing the environment with commercial jet airliners, so you’re working with the professionals here! If you can learn to fly here, you can be confident of flying anywhere.

I have to give a special mention to Durham Aerosport’s chief flying instructor, Lawrence Bell. I’ve had the pleasure of learning to fly with Lawrence over the last couple of years. He is extremely professional, an excellent teacher and really cares about the development of his students.

I’ve tried other flying schools and Durham Aerosports is the best place to learn to fly in the North East, I’d recommend them to anyone.

A flying school at a real functioning airport! Fabulous, clean, ideally located premises. Highly knowledgable and skilled instructor. The interaction with a live ATC is priceless. A significantly better place to learn than anywhere else I’ve been.
